Coke Can

It’s been a bit since i’ve done product renders for myself. For the last four and a half years I’ve had the privilege to be working on Adidas, doing a lot of renders of shoes, and more and more building of process and new tools, so this was an attempt at getting back to my roots and just doing something fun for myself. Houdini has been a journey and something I’m really enjoying. There is something to be said about taking the first step into something new. You really can’t overstate how important just taking that first step is, and i’m really thankful to have take that first step.

Houdini Practice

Has there ever been a better time than a global pandemic and quarantine to start honing some of your 3D chops? I can’t think of one. For one of my first projects I wanted to replicate some of the xgen art I remember seeing like 6 years ago when xgen was still shiny and new. This project really showed me that it was time to upgrade my computer, it hit its limit countless times, and really limited how small I was able to go. So next on my list of things to do is upgrade my system. I am relatively happy with the outcome but know it could be better and more detailed. This is one of those projects I will have to revisit once I complete the upgrade.

The 10,000 hour journey

I’ve been doing 3D art for a while now, I'm not even sure if I could ballpark how many hours I’ve put in over the years, and that’s part of why I’ve created this page; I want to start tracking my progress. I’ve had a lot of changes happen to me in my life over the past year and one thing has become very clear to me, I need to become more disciplined and focus on what really matters to me in life; my progress in art being one of those things. So here is to the start of a journey fulfilled, focused and creative lifestyle.
